The College of Idaho is a small, private liberal arts college with close to 950 students.

The main venues are the Pub (seats 50), the Langroise Recital Hall (seats 198) and our outdoor Quad (capacity of about 1500). Submitting artists will be considered for all venues and the college will determine final location. Their Program Council is a group of elected students who will make all final decisions of who to book and will ONLY accept EPKs.

Bands and artists will be compensated. Range depends on the budget year, usually up to $3,000 plus travel and lodging. They book mostly local or regional artists (depending on cost).

Winterfest and Spring Fling are two of their biggest events- both are major concerts/parties. The College of Idaho is looking for UPBEAT bands for these events. They also try to make their event planning diverse, booking at least one concert, comedian, speaker, and variety act between September and May.

The International Festival4Stars Songwriting Competition began in The UK in 2004. Festival4Stars is an international talent search which is now offering 12 songwriters an all-expenses-paid trip to perform live in London and 4 grand prizes of $1,000. The competition is open to artists from all around the world, however all lyrics must be in English. There are three heats to the competition, and 4 artists will be selected from each heat to advance to the final live competition at the Grange City Hotel in London in front of a panel of judges, including Robin Gibb from The Bee Gee's.

The International Festival4Stars Songwriting Competition is accepting submissions in 4 categories. One winner will be selected from each of the four following categories to receive the $1000 prizes:

Pop and Rock

Singer/Songwriter

Country, Folk, Traditional

R&B, Soul, Rap

Entries will be judged by a panel of music industry professionals; including songwriters, record producers, publishers and managers from all over the world. The judges will give each song constructive written feedback in each of the following criteria: commercial-ability, originality, melody, composition and lyrics. Sponsors of this Songwriting Contest include Peavey, Songs4U and Maximum Music. This is a great chance for any artist to receive a $1000 cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to compete live in London.

POP Montreal is a grass roots festival created and supported by people who love music and live performance. Founded in 2002 by fans and supporters of music, it has expanded in scope and vision every year, and will celebrate its 8th anniversary from September 30th to October 4th this fall.

Each year, the five-day festival presents more than 400 artists. Delivering a bold cross-section of art forms and events, the festival includes symposium discussions, artisan and visual art exhibitions, fashion shows, film screenings, and, of course, a few all-night parties. For musicians and artists, fans, curators, critics, record labels and industry, POP Montreal is the North American festival that provides a dynamic introduction to the next generation of musical talent and independent art forms.

The Illinois Special Events Network Convention is a two day event designed for people who manage, plan, and organize festivals and special events. 8 artists will be chosen to showcase at the convention in front of 150 festival and event planners. These planners are from park districts, chambers, villages and festival organizations in Illinois. Many are looking to book the entertainment for their events. Along with the entertainment showcase, the convention offers educational sessions, a marketing awards luncheon, and a vendor expo.

The Entertainment Showcase takes place on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 4:15 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Artists will be allowed 15 minutes to perform. All genres are accepted.

The deadline to submit your electronic press kit is January 5th, and a committee made up of ISEN board members will review the submissions. Those not chosen to perform will be allowed to pass out promotional materials at a table in the hallway during the showcase. You will be notified by January 15th if your act will perform.

Each Showcase participant will be provided a table in the hallway to book business during the showcase. Entertainment showcase participants may prepare their table between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009.

This community music series has been successfully run by Head-On Entertainment, Inc. for 8+ years. The series proudly represents a very cultural mix of music and primarily features original local and regional artists (sometimes a national headliner passing through town). Internet Records is looking for the next best rap act out there for an online reality series. Artists will perform tasks each week and one person will be eliminated until the final two, when America/arist fans will vote for who should be the next rap artist. Currently looking for rap/hiphop only, the preliminary judging will start on 1/1 to continue till 1/31. Artists will submit their EPK with Video, and explain why they want to be the next big rap artist. Artist should also demonstrate their raping skills and abilities.

The contest will be performed online, and is open to artists all over the world. The artist must have high-speed access and video camera, as the information will be recorded, and users, will vote for their favorite rap artist. This is a ten to eleven week contest and the final artist chosen will receive a deal with Internet Records to promote and produce their new album, as well as exposure in different markets.

Judges will consist of the Internet Records staff with Kenneth Williams (A&R), Tyrone Williamson (CEO/Producer) and Albert Turner (Judge).

The Zone, a brand new music venue in Longmont CO, is actively seeking local and regional musicians and performance artists for immediate openings on Saturday nights. There are 10-15 slots available each month, and set lengths will be 30-45 minutes. The Zone focus on hip hop and rock, but are open to all genres as long as you bring in a good crowd and can perform a good show.

The Zone will contact artists for booking at least two months prior to the date of the show. There is limited backline at the venue - a sound system, including vocal mics, monitors and a sound person is available. They will give you contact information of bands playing with you if you'd like to try to arrange sharing gear. Selected artists will be compensated by a percentage of tickets they sell.

The Belleville American Music Festival, or BamFest, is now in it's 4th year and will be held July 10-11, 2009. This is an annual festival in Belleville, Wisconsin, just outside Madison. Compensation is provided, and it is negotiated with each artist.

Last year's event drew over 5,000 attendees. The acts that play the stage earlier in the day are emerging artists, and there are national artists later on. Past performers include Lonnie Brooks, Ana Popavic, Johnny Winter, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Jeremy Spencer, Robben Ford, and many others.

AthFest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit annual music and arts festival in downtown Athens, Georgia that largely showcases the Athens area musical and artistic community. AthFest's mission is to educate citizens and visitors about music and arts in general, and about Athens music and arts in particular.

Music is an integral part of Athens, Georgia's history. It has spawned a wealth of talent from the earlier well-knowns such as R.E.M., the B-52's, Love Tractor, Pylon, Neutral Milk Hotel and Dreams So Real to more recent breakouts such as Of Montreal, The Whigs and Modern Skirts.

For 2009, Athfest will select a minimum of 5 in-state and 2 out-of-state Sonicbids artist to perform. With the exception of the headlining acts, all bands will receive a $100 stipend, as well as wristbands for the event.

Since the first Athfest in 1997, the festival has had more than 100 bands play per year, on average - the majority of them from the Athens area. Over 20,000 people attend over 4 days. While the festival has grown and added new segments such as an Artistisan Market and KidsFest, the music is what drives this festival and makes it great to share with the community and visitors.

Much of Athfest is free, while wristbands or cover charges are required for certain events.

This year's Athfest will be taking place June 25-28, 2009 and will feature 2 outdoor stages as well as a Club Crawl, which begins as soon as the outdoor stages close at 10pm. The club crawl takes place across 15 venues throughout downtown Athens. At least one Sonicbids artist will be selected to play as part of the club crawl.

Also, all artists selected to play will be eligible for the Athfest Podcast.

Please note: Athfest books mostly regional talent from the Athens, GA area. Since Athfest is particularly interested in having local and regional artists submit, the price has been lowered for those artists to encourage them to submit. Salisbury, MD's Unicity Performing Arts Festival will take place on May 15 and 16th 2009 at town's 110-acre Winterplace Park. In 2001, the Sistahood Celebration started as a one-day event featuring an all-female line up of spoken word and hip hop performers and filmmakers. In recognition of International Women's Day, The Sistahood Celebration is a festival designed to advance audience and artist development across a spectrum of diversities. Sistahood provides a safe space for creative expression for emerging and established women and gender-diverse artists involved in a range of artistic disciplines, and facilitates dialogue between these artists and the local community. Each year the artistic vision and programming is used to provoke critical thinking on social, political and cultural issues; and to illuminate new strategies for integrating broad community development with individual artistic practice.

The 2009 Sistahood Celebration will take place in Vancouver, BC, Canada from the end of February through the month of March. Exact dates will be discussed upon acceptance for a performance slot. Selected artists may also be eligible for inclusion on the "Sounds of Sistahood" a compilation CD, depending on space, availability and quality of the sound recordings submitted.

Toronto Exclusive Magazine Project Showcase & Artist CD Sale is an monthly music industry showcase based in Toronto and other cities. The showcase is also available to record labels, production and management companies wishing to promote their artists. This upcoming showcase will take at the Smiling Budhha Lounge, November 25 and 26, 2008. More dates TBA!

Local and regional acts are welcome to submit, as well as acts who will be touring through Toronto. Check with organizers first for dates and eligibility. Multiple artists perform at each showcase, often up to 10 per night.

An in-house PA system is provided. A drum kit is also provided, but check for availability first. Artists performing with tracks will need to bring them on a CD and labeled with their name and track numbers. There are many slots reserved per show for Sonicbids artists.

Artists performing on the showcase should have promotional items- CDs, flyers, t-shirts, etc. in order to take advantage of this great promotional opportunity. Artists must be at least 19 years old. Artists who use profanity in their music or that have a negative image cannot participate.

Accepted genres include but not limited rock, pop, folk, singer/songwriter, jazz, world, dance, pop, r&b, latin, gospel.

The "First Friday" Concert Series takes place the first Friday of every month at The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts in Montgomery, Alabama from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Providing a venue to expand the appreciation for art and music, this is an excellent opportunity for up-and-coming artists, as well as established acts, to get in front of new faces.

Until 1971, the Museum's collections included historical objects, archeological artifacts and art. In that year, the focus of the Museum's collections was redefined and the collecting and preservation of art became the focus of the Museum's mission. The Museum opened in the Wynton M. Blount Cultural Park on September 18, 1988. Since that time, over one million visitors have enjoyed the wide range of exhibitions and programs offered throughout the year. Six Flags New England was among the many parks to participate in this exciting series. Whether you are a single artist with a guitar, a new band just trying to get heard, or a cover band that likes to sing the great songs of our generation, Six Flags may have a spot for you.

Music of all genres is accepted. Six Flags will choose those artists which reflect diverse and family friendly material. The performance stage is located inside the park, near the Tea Cups and Splash Water Falls.

Please note: Adult language is not permitted and will not be tolerated. Performance days and times are still TBD. They can be flexible if needed. This is an unpaid performance, but merchandise sales are allowed. Artists shall retain 100% of their profits. Items must be family friendly, and in good taste. Six Flags retains the right to review and approve/disapprove of any merchandise.

Six Flags New England will provide an adequate stage and power. Bands will provide all sound and needed backline equipment, and will also do all the setup and load-in themselves. Stage hands will not be provided. It's suggested that you bring a hand truck as you cannot pull your car into the park or to the stage due to safety concerns. Parking is also free for the band. Only the band and 2-3 assistants/techs/merchandise sellers will be allowed in free of charge.

AUX is Canada's new emerging and diverging music channel. It is currently available online, on TV (as a weekly 3 hour block on BITE tv) and on mobile phone video services across North America. Music videos submitted to AUX are all reviewed by their programming committee and have a chance to be featured on Outbreak, their daily music video spotlight. Outbreak features prominently on AUX.tv, but as well as being featured every hour on the hour on BITE TV in Canada. At least one Sonicbids Supersonic artist will be selected for airplay each month.

All genres accepted. Explicit lyrics are okay. If chosen your video will be played 24 times on television across Canada in a single day. The best of Outbreak each week are featured again on the weekends (for a chance to have another 24 hours of TV plays). AUX supports emerging and diverging talent. Signed or unsigned if your band is on the rise, or just doing something different, they would love to hear from you and see your video.

Selected artists will be financially compensated for airplay on AUX through their Performing Rights Organization of choice (ASCAP, SOCAN, etc) and paid a royalty for any episodes that are rerun. Additionally, selected artists will automatically be considered for inclusion in other AUX series.

Mickey's Singer/Songwriter Series takes place every Tuesday at Mickey's Bar & Grill in Lowell, MA, from 8pm to midnight. Hosted originally by the lovely Jen Kearney, the torch has since been passed on to Reverend JJ. This is an excellent opportunity for up and coming artists, as well as established acts, to get in front of new faces.

Compensation is a $25 credit to the restaurant for the night of the feature performance only. Musicians may also put out a tip jar/hat and keep 100% of all merchandise sales on night of performance. All genres are accepted for submission, however music must be original and mostly acoustic. Full PA system is provided, however artists must bring all of their own instrumentation.

The night starts with a featured performer from 8pm-9pm and then open mic for the rest of the evening. The series has a relaxed atmosphere complete with good music and a great crowd. Past performers at the series include Melvern Taylor, Danielle Miraglia and Frank Morey.

Red Roof Women's Music Festival is in its second year as a premier women only music event. At least 4 Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform at the 2009 festival. Taking place July 17-19, 2009, the festival features 2 days of live music with camping, swimming, vendors and activities all in a unique peaceful setting on Lime Lake in Marlbank, ON.

Performers are provided free campsites for the weekend and meals day of performance, and compensation will be negotiated upon selection. In it's first year, they had a diverse amount of performances, with the best in local, regional and national female talent on the Red Roof stage as well as featuring emerging artists. One of the many highlights of 2008 was the incredibly heartfelt and dynamic headlining performance by disappear fear/SONiA from Baltimore, Maryland.
